02How long does UIDAI take to process an update?

Most demographic updates are processed within 7–15 days, though it can take longer depending on verification load.

03What if my update request gets rejected?

The most common reasons are a proof document that doesn't match the field being updated, an unclear scan, or a name mismatch across documents. We track the URN and refile with the correct proof if this happens.

04Is biometric update mandatory for children?

Yes. A child's Aadhaar biometrics — photo, fingerprints, and iris scan — must be updated at age 5 and again at age 15, since the biometrics captured before that age change significantly.
